Our Staff

Scott McMahan and his wife, Kristie, are the owners of McMahan's Nursery. Scott is a homegrown "Georgia boy" and an extreme plant fanatic. He has a Bachelor's degree in English and an Associate's Degree in Horticulture. Scott was the propagator for a large wholesale grower for 5 years as well as the nursery manager at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for several years. He has traveled to China, Japan and many spots in the southern and northwestern United States in search of rare finds. He finds great joy in pushing the limits of what will grow in zone 7.

Scott's favorite plant (for today): Sinofranchetia sinensis

Tiffanny Jones runs the nursery with Scott. She has a Bachelor's degree in Ornamental Horticulture and worked at the Atlanta Botanical Garden as the accessionist and gardener. She is by far the nursery's most valuable employee. Although she is an excellent worker in the morning, after she eats lunch Tiffanny is all giggles. She loves to spell Latin names and do whatever is necessary to keep the nursery in tip-top shape.
